Cod Asian Style

This is one of the easiest dishes which will impress any guest in a matter of just a few minutes. Best served with jasmine rice and woked greens with garlic and oyster sauce.

Most important is the quality of the hoisin sauce, but really any hoisin should do the trick.

Ingredients

  • Cod or any white fish (100-200g per person depending on hunger / age), sliced and skinless
  • Hoisin sauce (2-3 table spoons)
  • Scallions, chopped
  • Ginger, chopped in thin strips
  • Sesame seeds, white (peeled) and black, roasted (optional)

side

  • Jasmine rice
  • Broccoli, pack choi, sugarsnaps or other Asian greens
  • Garlic, finely chopped or grated
  • Oyster sauce

Instructions

  1. heat the oven to about 120°C
  2. wash the rice and put it in the rice cooker (if you have one)
  3. put the fish in an ovenproof dish
  4. smear the hoisin sauce on top of the fish
  5. sprinkle scallions, ginger and sesame on top of the fish
  6. put the dish in the oven for 10 minutes
  7. while the fish is cooking, wok the greens with chopped garlic and oyster sauce
  8. check if it’s cooked
  9. serve
